Tax Preparer

Description

We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to jhelp on a contract basis in Kirkland, Washington. This position is primarily remote. focuses on preparing individual tax returns with precision and efficiency while utilizing industry-standard tools and software. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in tax preparation and a commitment to delivering accurate results.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare individual tax returns (1040s) with attention to accuracy and compliance.

- Use tax preparation software, including Lacerte and CCH Pro System, to streamline workflows.

- Ensure proper documentation and organization of paperless work papers.

- Collaborate with team members to resolve complex tax-related issues.

- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations affecting individual returns.

- Review completed tax returns for accuracy and compliance with federal and state requirements.

- Provide excellent client service by addressing inquiries and offering guidance on tax-related matters.

- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to high standards of attention to detail in all aspects of work.

- Assist with identifying opportunities for tax savings and planning for clients.

- Participate in training or development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements - A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in preparing individual tax returns (1040s).

- CPA or Enrolled Agent designation is highly preferred.

- Proficiency in using tax preparation software, including Lacerte and CCH Pro System.

- Familiarity with paperless workpaper systems.

- Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations related to individual returns.

- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
