Harvey Nash's Pub Sec client is seeking an exceptional Data Protection Officer to join its Board and provide strategic leadership, expert oversight, and strong assurance in all matters relating to data protection, information governance, and digital support.

As a key member of the Information Governance team, the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting safe, ethical, and compliant use of data across the business. This is a significant opportunity for an experienced professional to influence national direction, strengthen organisational governance.

• Provide independent, expert advice on UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and wider information governance legislation.
• Offer strategic challenge and assurance on data protection risks, digital programmes, and major transformation initiatives.
• Strengthen Board-level decision‑making by ensuring data ethics, transparency, and public trust remain central to organisational priorities.
• Support oversight of information-sharing, security governance, and data‑driven service development.
• Champion the rights of individuals whose data is held, promoting a culture of accountability and integrity.
