2745 – UX Designers / Researchers – Central Scotland
As UX Designer / Researcher, you will be embedded within project teams to deliver user‑centred insight and design practice. This work focuses on internal user experiences but must remain meaningful to the organisation’s wider customer outcomes. You will help validate usability, support accessibility, and contribute to building a brand‑new UCD function.

What you’ll do- Conduct user research to understand internal user needs and pain points
- Carry out usability testing to validate new or existing solutions
- Ensure accessibility standards are met across project deliverables
- Produce UCD artefacts such as user journeys, service maps, personas, or insights
- Support internal teams and vendors responsible for UI component delivery
- Help socialise and embed UCD ways of working into project delivery
- Collaborate with UX Leads to contribute to framework and standards development
- Strong grounding in UX research and/or service design methods
- Experience in usability evaluation, problem framing, and synthesising insights
- Understanding of accessibility principles and compliance considerations
- Ability to communicate findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in organisations with emerging or low UCD maturity
- Experience supporting UI delivery teams (not ownership of UI design)
- Exposure to enterprise internal systems or service design in complex environments
- Curiosity, empathy, and passion for improving user experience
- Comfortable educating others about UCD principles
- Adaptable and able to work within ambiguous, evolving structures
- Collaborative and proactive approach to problem‑solving
