Overview

Ward 53 is a busy 24 bedded Respiratory Ward and are currently seeking a Housekeeper to complement our existing team.

The post consists of maintaining a very high standard of cleaning and organisation of the ward environment. Duties will include managing stock, control of equipment and actively supporting mealtimes. There are also some clerical and clinical duties which will support the nursing team in delivery of care to the patients and other general duties as required.

Excellent communication skills and a knowledge of infection control and basic IT skills are essential for this post.

The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy, challenging and rewarding environment.

Organisational skills and a methodical approach are an essential requirement for this post along with a patient centred focus.

The successful candidate will be expected to work over 3 days Monday Friday. Alternating with other ward housekeeper.

  • Please note this post may close early due to anticipated level of applicants*
  • As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

    A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
