Overview
The role of the Stock Co-ordinator is to support Community Nursing teams in the Community Care Division across Liverpool, Sefton and Knowsley by coordinating the ordering, monitoring and management of wound care dressings and products, PPE, and equipment for the services. The post holder will also be responsible for the coordination of annual checks of all equipment in line with Trust policies by liaising with appropriate teams inside and outside of the Organisation ensuring all equipment remains fit for purpose.
The ability to travel between different community sites across Liverpool, Sefton and Knowsley is essential.

Key Responsibilities- Perform stock checks across multiple sites and maintain accurate stock level databases.
- Re-order stock for multiple sites ensuring stock is replenished and rotated.
- Complete quality checks on equipment across multiple sites to ensure that it is fit for purpose.
- Maintain an orderly storage area across multiple sites.
- Complete PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) across multiple sites once full training has been received.
- Coordinate management of wound care dressings and products, PPE, and equipment for the service; maintain stock databases and provide weekly reports to the Operational Manager.
- Carry out weekly stock checks at all bases; check expiry dates and dispose of out-of-date items in line with Mersey Care Wound Care Policy.
- Inform the Operational Manager of any discrepancies during stock checks.
- Replenish stock weekly according to agreed minimum and maximum levels and inform the Operational Manager of all orders placed.
- Check and log all new stock orders on arrival and store appropriately in each base.
- Act upon wound care product alerts and cross-reference batch numbers against existing stock.
- Support clinical staff with Wound Care audits and spot checks.
- Maintain stock databases and keep them up to date to support others as required.
- Coordinate and check that all relevant equipment has received its annual checks in line with Trust policies; keep records of all checks and inform the Operational Manager of any issues.
- Be the point of contact for the clinical team for wound care products that need replacing or condemning.
- Meet regularly with the Tissue Viability Nurse and Operational Manager to discuss stock budgets.
- Liaise with the Tissue Viability Nurse, Operational Manager, and procurement team if stock ordering issues arise or cost efficiency improvements are possible.
- Look for alternative stock/equipment options that offer cost efficiency.
- Provide evidence to support development around the Trust appraisal system, which may include competency profiles.
- Participate in regular supervision, engage in reflective practice, and commit to continued development.
- Develop personal skills and contribute to the development of others.
- Maintain a database of stock and equipment, recording all stock and restock levels.
- Participate in Wound Care Product audits and equipment audits to evidence quality and cost effectiveness.
- Be the first point of contact regarding wound care products enquiries.
- Develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in the health care setting.
- Liaise with external agencies when placing stock orders.
- Keep an up-to-date and relevant document folder to support others if necessary.
