Food Service Supervisor II – CASWELL DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER

We’re looking for a leader to manage food service activities and maintain sanitation standards as defined by the NC Food Code in a moderate scale operation.

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Supervise food preparation, food/supplies procurement and storage, service employees, and record keeping.
- Manage employees: hiring, performance planning and evaluation, training, discipline, and scheduling.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lb.
- Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in a moderate scale food service operation.
- Considerable knowledge of the dietary requirements for a variety of therapeutic diets and diet textures.
- Ability to develop and use standardized recipes.
- Ability to estimate food quantities to supply the number of persons to be served.
- Considerable knowledge of procurement and inventory of food and supplies.
- Ability to evaluate and correct sanitation and food safety practices as set in the NC Food Code.
- Considerable knowledge of management principles related to supervision of employees.
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of employees.
- Knowledgeable in food service software.
- Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, food management, or hospitality management from an appropriately accredited institution.
- Two years of food service supervision experience.
Bachelor's degree in dietetics, food management, culinary arts, or hospitality management from an appropriately accredited institution; or high school (GED) with four years of supervisory experience in the preparation and serving of food in quantity lots; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
