Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is an advanced practice registered nurse who provides anesthetic services as a member of the surgical team, contributes to overall patient care before, during and after surgery. The role includes technical and mechanical functions and ability to function in challenging situations by utilizing expert knowledge and professional judgement.

• Provide direct patient care and anesthesia services.
• Collaborate with physicians and other departments to project a positive image of the department and hospital.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school and advanced practice anesthesia program. MSN preferred.
• Current RN license in NC and current CRNA license.
• CPR, ACLS and PALS certification.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, manual dexterity, team work, calm under stress.
• Must be able to work on a computer and with ventilators and associated equipment.

Good manual dexterity, ability to work as a team member, willingness to learn, displays calm and self confidence in acute stressful situations. Must be able to work on a computer, with ventilators and equipment.

Exposure to blood borne pathogens, other infectious diseases, radiation, chemicals, electrical hazards, hazardous anesthetic agents, flammable gases. May experience stressful work periods. Taking call required.

Engage in daily activities: standing, sitting, moving stretchers, carts, equipment, positioning patients, maintaining patent airway, emotional stability, hand strength for intubation.
