Overview
Build Precision That Powers Flight as a CNC Machine Operator.
Location:
Kinston, NC. This role supports the production of high-tolerance aerospace parts and assemblies that are critical to aircraft safety, performance, and reliability. This is a high-tech manufacturing environment where attention to detail matters.
As a Machine Operator, you will set up and operate a variety of machine tools—both conventional and CNC—to manufacture precision aerospace components. You’ll interpret engineering documentation, select proper tooling, perform dimensional calculations, and ensure each part meets exact specifications. With company-provided training, you’ll continue to build your skills while contributing to a culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools to produce parts and assemblies to exacting tolerances
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications
- Determine machining sequences, number of cuts, tooling requirements, feeds, and speeds
- Use machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments to verify accuracy
- Perform shop math related to dimensions, tooling, and machining processes
- Measure, mark, and scribe reference points to lay out stock for machining
- Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment
- Identify required materials, parts, and equipment for each job
- Monitor and verify quality using statistical process control or other quality procedures
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Completion of a formal machining apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience
- Experience operating CNC machine tools in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Willingness to learn and follow safety and quality standards
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC)
- Experience working with tight tolerances and complex assemblies
- Background in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing
Pay: $31.34 per hour.
