Production Manager
Overview
The Production Team Leader plays a critical role in supporting the Department Supervisor in managing daily operations within the production area. This position is responsible for coordinating work assignments, monitoring productivity and quality, ensuring safety and compliance with standard work practices, and providing guidance and support to team members. Serving as a vital link between production employees and plant leadership, the Team Leader ensures efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities- Assist the Department Supervisor in overseeing daily production activities to meet production schedules and completion points while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Assign and coordinate daily tasks and rotations among team members to ensure a balanced workload.
- Evaluate staffing needs based on daily absenteeism and vacation time.
- Train and coach team members on standard work procedures, safety practices, and quality standards.
- Monitor product quality and ensure adherence to specifications and company standards.
- Communicate production goals, changes, and updates to the team during shift start and throughout the day.
- Support problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives, such as waste reduction.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and 6S standards.
- Track and report production data such as output, downtime, and defects.
- Assist with equipment checks, material flow, and changeovers to minimize delays.
- Act as point of contact for team issues and escalate concerns to the Department Supervisor when needed.
- Issue corrective action and hold team members accountable when policies are not followed.

Work EnvironmentWork at a cabinet manufacturing facility that is non-climate controlled and can become very hot during the summer. The environment is fast-paced, requiring adaptability and efficiency.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kinston, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.50/hr.
