Position: Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer

Bijur Delimon International ("BDI") is a global leader in the design and manufacture of lubrication dispensing products and systems. These systems range from simple single-point grease feeders to complex automatic systems which dispense oil or grease to hundreds of lubrication points.

With facilities in the United States, Germany, China, Ireland, France, India, and Spain, BDI services many national and international manufacturers in industries such as machine tools, steel, mining, cement, off-highway mobile equipment, factory automation, wind energy, food and beverage, textiles and material handling.

Position Summary

Responsible for creating, documenting, developing, and implementing procedures required to assemble, test, process, and manufacture BDI Kinston products. Interacts with manufacturing and assembly groups to maintain an efficient flow of production. Analyzes and plans work‑force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs the layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, evaluate, improve and document manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures.
  • Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
  • Estimate production times, relative costs, and staffing requirements to provide data for operational decisions.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of tool drawings and concepts in accordance with the R&D and quality assurance functions.
  • Provide engineering support in production department to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Coordinate work with technicians and outside vendors.
  • Support company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and manufacturing practices.
  • Help develop and create programs for CNC equipment.
Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical engineering. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment consisting of manufacture of low to medium volume machined components and assemblies. Experience in mill, lathe, hone, and grinding operations is essential. Experience in lean manufacturing methodologies is a plus. Must have CNC, lathe and 5‑axis experience with HAAS machines.

Other Desirable Skills / Attributes
  • 2D and 3D CAD experience.
  • Above average technical writing, written communication, and presentation skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite in preparing various communications.
  • Consistently demonstrates solid work ethic and commitment to personal and professional growth as an engineering professional.
  • Working knowledge of business database software such as BPCS / AS400 or an equivalent material control management system.
  • Must be a good listener and have the ability to effectively deal with people at all levels.
Travel Requirements

The potential for occasional domestic / international travel, as may be or may become required, is understood to be an integral requirement of this assignment.
