SummaryQuality and Informatics Coordinators will assist the PACS Administrator with administrative duties and educate staff and referring physicians on the use of the PACS system. Coordinate the clinical functions of the Radiology department with hospital information systems (billing, reporting, imaging, scheduling). Maintain Department compliance with regulatory agencies. Responsible for staff completion and documentation of all annual required education. Provides necessary education to staff for all identified needs.
ResponsibilitiesPatients and families are served by assuring that exams performed are of high quality and that service is prompt and accurate. Physicians are served by coordinating department efforts towards quality imaging and workflow.
QualificationsOther information:
Education RequirementsGraduation from a two-year AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
Professional Experience RequirementCompetency in various modalities within the Radiology department. Experience as an imaging specialist or working group leader.
Licensure / Registration / CertificationMust be registered in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology. Additional advanced Imaging certifications desired.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities RequirementsGood computer skills and experience working with PACS and/or other Information systems. Good communication skill to interact with patients, employees, other team members and physicians. Demonstrates team leadership abilities and able to handle stressful situations properly. Demonstrates commitment to continuing professional development.
Work EnvironmentExposure to electrical hazards through the use of computer equipment. May be exposed to infectious and contagious disease, blood borne and airborne pathogens requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
Physical RequirementRequires walking and standing throughout shift. Ability to lift some computer equipment (in excess of 30 lbs.) at times.
