Provides patient care in the ED as delegated by the licensed nursing staff. Performs EKGs and phlebotomy as needed in the department within the scope of the NA II.

• Patients and families are served in providing direct patient care services.
• Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner to project a positive image of the department and hospital.
• Insures that contacts with other health‑care members are friendly, helpful, and courteous.

• Educationzk:
  High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of North Carolina Board of Nursing approved Nursing Assistant II course. Completes the EKG and phlebotomy on‑the‑job training.
• Professional experience:
  Two years of health‑care experience preferred.
• Licensure/registration:
  Certified by the State Board of Nursing as NA II and BLS certification.
• Knowledge,OBJECT skills:
  Good interpersonal, communication, and observation skills essential. Understanding of patient care needs according to developmental stages for various age groups.
• Work environment:
  Exposure to blood borne pathogens requiring protective equipment; exposure to other infectious diseases. Exposure to chemicals used to clean and disinfect equipment.
• Physical requirements:
  
  Working and standing throughout the shift. Lifting, pulling, turning, and pushing patients daily.
