Activities DirectorSTGi is seeking qualified candidates for this position in connection with an active Request for Proposals (RFP). Hiring for this role is contingent upon STGi’s selection as the successful awardee.

Key Responsibilities- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the activities programs of the facility to meet the individual and person‑centered needs of the residents.
- Develop recreational activities opportunities that are appropriate to the resident population and individualized to resident needs.
- Coordinate community outreach and seek out recreational partnerships that represent the interests of the residents.
- Coordinate with transportation services for activity outings and as necessary to meet the individual needs of the residents.
- Keep abreast of current federal and state regulations and professional standards of practice, and make recommendations on changes in facility policies and procedures to the Administrator.
- Help develop a written care plan (preliminary and comprehensive) for each resident that identifies problems/needs and goal achievements.
- Ensure all department personnel attend required facility in‑service training programs (OSHA, TB, HIPAA, abuse prevention, etc.).
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Knowledge of regulations governing activity services in nursing care facilities.
- Proficiency in providing care appropriate to the age‑related needs of residents.
- Diplomacy with personnel, residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
- Leadership ability and willingness to supervise personnel.
- Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
- Willingness to seek new methods and incorporate them into existing activity services.
- Member in good standing of NASW and ACSW.
- Ability to communicate information concerning a resident’s condition.
- Minimum two years of college;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional licensed by state and eligible for certification, or
- Minimum two years experience in a social or recreation program within last five years, one full‑time in patient activities program in a health care setting, or
- Qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant, or
- Completed a training course approved by the State of North Carolina.
- Work in office areas and throughout the facility.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Interact with residents, families, personnel, and visitors under all conditions.
- Work beyond normal hours, weekends and holidays when necessary; on call 24/7.
