Job Description:

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for an Industrial Systems Design Engineer to join our Engineering department based in Kinston, NC.

The Industrial Systems Design Engineer’s mission is to analyze and validate the Kinston plant’s as‑is industrial system capacity and performance in order to determine the to‑be solutions needed for capacity increase (ramp‑up) and/or performance improvement. The engineer will support the OMFZ Industrial Architect, who is responsible for validating the consistency of the solutions and investments needed.

Your Working Environment: The Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility is at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, specializing in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures. Our team builds critical components for the state‑of‑the‑art Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.

Your Challenges:

Responsibilities: 90%

  • Industrial system as‑is value stream models and simulation
    • As‑is VSA
    • As‑is Airbus Lean design guidelines maturity assessment
    • As‑is Resilience assessment
  • Industrial capacity as‑is assessment and simulation
    • As‑is Macro PERT and critical path assessment
    • As‑is Standard Line Balancing and CVAT
    • Capacity bridge strategy
  • To‑be industrial VSA and capacity
    • To‑be industrial VSA and SLB
    • Capacity bridges proposals to recover capacity and/or reach ramp‑up
  • Support the industrial architecture trades
    • The above deliverables will support the Industrial Architect to establish priorities in terms of improvements implementation and needed investments.
  • Loop the above points as needed
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    Other duties as assigned by management 5%

    Your Boarding Pass:

    • Bachelor degree in Industrial System Design and Engineering
    • 10+ years of experience
    • Lean Line Design Process
    • Value Stream analysis

    • Fundamentals in Manufacturing Engineering
    • Supply chain and logistics
    • Flow simulations
    • Project Management basics
    • Industrial requirements
    • Adapt communication skills
    • Google Workspace experience

    Preferred:

    • Industrial System Architect
    • Lean Certification

    Citizenship: Authorized to work in the US
