We partner with leading aerospace organizations on high-visibility programs and are now seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support our strategic customer onsite in Kinston, NC
, working on advanced aircraft structures, including programs like the Airbus A350
.
The Quality Engineer will ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to aerospace standards across composite and metallic structures manufacturing.
You will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Quality teams
, driving first-time quality, resolving nonconformances, and supporting continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who can own quality processes on the shop floor and interface directly with customer quality teams.
Responsibilities- Support quality assurance for aircraft structures, assemblies, and systems
- Ensure compliance with Airbus requirements, AS9100, AS9102, FAA/EASA standards
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA, 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D) and implement corrective actions
- Manage and support NCR/MRB processes and dispositions
- Support and review First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102
- Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits
- Interface with Customer Quality teams and Airbus counterparts
- Provide shop-floor quality support and verification
- Analyze quality metrics, trends, and drive continuous improvement
- Support supplier quality activities when needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve first-pass yield and reduce defects
- 5+ years of experience in Aerospace Quality Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field
- Experience with aircraft structures or assemblies (composite or metallic)
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102
- Hands-on experience with RCA, NCR/MRB, CAPA processes
- Experience supporting production in regulated aerospace environments
- Strong communication, documentation, and customer-facing skills
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use inspection tools
- Experience with Airbus programs (A350 preferred)
- Familiarity with Airbus quality systems, tools, and requirements
- Experience with ERP/MES systems like SAP
