Monday through Friday day shift (8:30am-3:30pm or 9:00am-3:00pm). No weekends.
Salary: $20.00/hour
What You’ll DoWork directly with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to teach, assist, and facilitate choices in their daily lives and within their community.
Summary of PositionPerform a variety of direct support duties including: implementation and documentation of Day Habilitation Service Plan objectives; providing motivation and support during offerings and transitions; within the Efron Center/DEP programs, New England Village, external agencies, and state and local policies, regulations and procedures.

- Assist members to identify, develop and participate in a variety of activities designed to increase functional independence. Support and assist members to build upon their individual strengths and interests.
- Coordinate and follow established schedule and provide support for members to integrate into the community and incorporate each member’s therapeutic goals into routine on site and community activities within each person’s needs and interests. Follow the learning style and implementation strategy as provided in each Day Habilitation service plan.
- Inform appropriate parties of medical, behavioral, social or other relevant issues concerning members, document in logbook, incident reports or tracking tools as indicated.
- Develop life skill and enrichment curriculum in accordance with the executive office of human services.
- Provide assistance to participants during activities as appropriate. Ensure member’s safety and well-being when in attendance and maintain a clean and stimulating environment. Assist members to maintain hygiene.
- Ensure that members with specific diet plans are followed.
- Participate in meetings as appropriate and is current on required trainings and certifications if applicable.
- Perform other similar duties as instructed or directed by supervisor.
- High school diploma required. Additional education preferred
- Over 1 year and up to 3 years experience working with adults with disabilities preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals served. Good personal communication skills.
- Ability to deal with problems involving known variables in standardized situations.
- Valid Driver's License
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
