About Student ServicesStudent Services supports students at each stage of their journey from pre‑entry to post‑exit. The department has a student‑oriented culture and puts students’ needs at the heart of everything it does.
About the RoleYou’ll be a Youth Worker who will contribute to a wide and varied programme, co‑leading and delivering a range of activities to students across the College. The role includes working with students that may be identified through safeguarding processes, supporting social spaces— including our Enrichment Hub— and delivering personal development activities that foster positive behaviours and attitudes.
Key Responsibilities- Co‑lead and deliver a variety of student activities.
- Work with students identified through safeguarding processes.
- Support social spaces, including the Enrichment Hub.
- Deliver personal development activities for positive behaviour and attitudes.
- Plan and deliver enrichment activities and events.
- Provide student workshops, presentations or tutorials.
- Travel to or work from other South Thames Colleges Group sites as required.
- Level 3 or above qualification in an appropriate subject (Youth & Community, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Health & Social Care or IAG).
- Experience working with and delivering activities to young people, predominantly 16‑18, from a variety of backgrounds.
- Experience in youth and community work/enrichment and/or targeted assessment, intervention and support.
- Ability to positively engage young people and help them improve behaviour, skills and confidence in challenging situations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead the planning and delivery of enrichment activities and events.
- Experience delivering student workshops, presentations or tutorials.
