Position SummaryUnder the general direction of the Manager of Rehabilitation Services, the Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive assessments of referred patients and develops client‑centred treatment programs. Treatment programs include but are not limited to: providing appropriate aids/adaptations; providing the necessary equipment to ensure appropriate seating; providing the necessary equipment to maintain skin integrity and health; providing the appropriate cognitive stimulation and providing appropriate ADL training.
The Occupational Therapist has a commitment to maintain the standards of practice of the College of Occupational Therapists. The Occupational Therapist will strive to provide patients with the highest quality of care in a safe, ethical manner. The Occupational Therapist has an obligation to practice within their professional scope of practice. The Occupational Therapist participates in discipline specific and interdisciplinary activities that are directed towards a patient‑centred environment.
- Masters or Baccalaureate degree from a recognized school of Occupational Therapy
- Current Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Two years’ (2) experience as an Occupational Therapist in a hospital setting preferred
- Current BCLS Certification and maintained through employment
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member
Excellent oral and written communication skills to prepare reports, interpret results in a manner that is clear and understandable and provide training and direction - Excellent computer skills
- Good attendance and availability required
