Purpose:
We are currently recruiting for a Instrumentation Designer Level II. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Kingston, Ontario.
We are looking for an Instrumentation Technologist to support the development and piloting of novel chemical processes and small lots manufacturing at Qnity’s (formerly DuPont’s) Kingston Research Facility.
Responsibilities:
Design, program, test and commission control systems based upon the Rockwell Automation Control Logix and Factory Talk SE HMI family of hardware and software for control and data acquisition on small-scale chemical pilot plants and small-lot manufacturing facilities.Provide onsite support to operations and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the systems. Occasional after-hours work required.Ensure that vendor-engineered and designed systems meet Qnity requirements and can be maintained without extensive retraining of maintenance personnel.What you will bring:

Experience:
Work as part of a team including Process Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Process Development Scientists, Process Technicians, and Maintenance Personnel.Understand, create and implement control system schemes.Participate in the Process Hazards Analysis and Management of Change processes (lead by Process Engineers).Flexible and able to work on several small projects and respond to maintenance issues on an ongoing basis.Fieldwork on site.Lead checkout of control systems.Assist with commissioning.Assist maintenance personnel with troubleshooting.Work with construction personnel during the construction phase of the project.Prepare Process and Instrumentation (P&) drawings, electrical schematic drawings, panel layouts, installation details, location drawings, conduit and cabling diagrams using AutoCAD.Develop HMI, data logger, alarming and PLC programs from scratch on the Rockwell Automation Factory Talk SE and Studio 5000 Platform for continuous and discrete control of chemical processes.Select PLC and supporting hardware.Configure Ethernet/IP networks.Work closely with Process Engineers to specify general instrumentation, including but not limited to pressure transmitters, flow transmitters, temperature transmitters, and temperature elements.Ensure all equipment has appropriate certifications for the application.Design systems for use in Hazardous Areas.Be available for occasional off-hours work.Five years minimum experience.Hardware.

Required:
