Responsibilities
What your day will look like
Technical Project Work
Complete preliminary and detailed designs for freeways, urban and rural multilane and two-lane facilities, interchanges, and intersections for MTO and local municipalitiesPrepare technical reports, design drawings, design quantities, and contract documentsInteract with clients, approval agencies, utility companies, contractors and other stakeholders, as requiredProvide support and oversight of junior staff working on transportation projectsInteract regularly with project team members including engineers, planners, environmental scientists, engineering technologists and various support staffBusiness Development
Contribute technical expertise to business development activities including responding to requests for proposals, preparation of proposals and statements of qualificationsContribute to the development and maintenance of strong client relationshipsBusiness travel to other Dillon offices upon requestLearning & Development
Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentInput to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoringContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committeesQualifications
What you will need to succeed
A diploma in civil engineering technologyCertified as a . or eligible within six monthsA minimum of five years' professional experience, preferably in the consulting industryDemonstrated aptitude for, and interest in, business developmentExperience
In-depth knowledge in preliminary and detail design work of municipal and provincial transportation facilitiesExperience in the geometric design of highways, municipal roads and intersectionsExperience with highway design software including InRoads and Civil3DProven experience and in-depth technical knowledge and capabilities in highway/transportation design including policies, regulations, guidelines and operational proceduresCompensation:
$75,000 - $110,000
Dillon is including the salary range that we in good faith believe may offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicant’s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
