The Technical Director is a "leader of leaders" who ensures technology serves as a seamless bridge to the Gospel. By overseeing audio, visual, lighting (AVL), and IT infrastructure, this role eliminates distractions and creates powerful environments where the disconnected can encounter a full life in Jesus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Multi‑Gathering Production Leadership (For Jesus)

  • Service Oversight: Total technical ownership of Wednesday Night Rush, Thursday Night Services and all Sunday Morning Services.
  • Children’s Ministry Production: Partner with the Christ’s Kids Director to oversee AVL systems in the children’s building, ensuring their environments are high‑energy and "Sunday Best" ready.
  • Broadcast Excellence: Manage technical execution of the Online Campus, ensuring our "Digital Front Door" is professional and welcoming.

Team Multiplication (For Each Other)

  • Leadership Pipeline: Identify, recruit, and coach high‑capacity volunteer teams for Audio, Video, and Lighting. Your success is measured by the developmental and spiritual health of your team.
  • Student Ministry Support: Provide high‑level support, training and engagement for student tech teams.
  • Spiritual Shepherding: Ensure those serving in the tech booth are personally known, spiritually fed, and integrated into the church body.

Strategic Outreach & Event Logistics (For Camden)

  • Annual Camps: Lead technical planning and execution for all off‑site student camps & retreats, managing mobile setups and sound reinforcement in diverse environments.
  • Off‑Site Events: Lead technical logistics for community‑wide events, such as Community Worship Nights, Christmas Eve, and Good Friday.
  • Campus IT Stewardship: Maintain the "invisible" tech (Wi‑Fi, iPads, printers, and office infrastructure) that empowers the staff to serve Camden effectively.

Systems & Budget Management

  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Monitor and maintain campus AVL equipment and perform proactive lifecycle replacements to prevent failures.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage the technology budget, hardware/software purchasing, and vendor relationships with third‑party partners.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Servant Leadership: A heart for both high‑level production and behind‑the‑scenes technical support.
  • Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of broadcast and streaming platforms, DMX lighting, programming, design and software. Experience with MIDI structure and programming in Pro Presenter, Multitracks, Ableton and lighting. Knowledge and experience in audio networking, RF signals, digital audio consoles, and video switching equipment.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Ability to lead through technical failures with grace and emotional intelligence.
  • Strategic Growth: A Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or commensurate experience in Technology/Production.
Spiritual Requirements
  • Staff Lifestyle Agreement: The Tech Director must embody the spiritual standards set forth in our Staff Lifestyle Agreement.
  • Statement of Faith: Agreement with the Christ’s Church Camden Statement of Faith, including our biblical understanding of the Trinity, baptism by immersion, the authority of Scripture, Salvation through faith alone, and God’s design for Marriage and Humanity.
  • Personal Commitment: A commitment to meeting God daily through Scripture and prayer, and faithful practice of a weekly Sabbath.
  • Integrity and Conduct: A lifestyle that reflects biblical integrity in personal, family, and business conduct.
  • For Each Other Vision: A commitment to the "For Each Other" vision to include positive intent, refraining from gossip, and resolving conflict biblically via Matthew 18.
  • Financial Stewardship: A commitment to lead by example in financial stewardship, including tithing to Christ’s Church Camden.
  • Attendance and Participation: Faithful attendance at weekend services and active participation in a Message Based Group, modeling the "full life in Jesus" to the congregation.
