Finance Assistant – Accounts

Hawk3 Talent Solutions are delighted to be supporting our client, a respected and long‑established multi‑discipline law firm, in their search for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their Accounts team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a busy, supportive department within a firm that genuinely invests in its people.

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking a Finance Assistant with at least six months’ experience in a similar role. Reporting to the Financial Officer, you will support the day‑to‑day running of either the client account or office account, ensuring full compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules.

This role offers variety, responsibility and the chance to develop your skills within a modern, forward‑thinking finance function.

Key Responsibilities Client Account
  • Carry out daily banking functions, including reconciliations
  • Prepare cheques and process bills
  • Support internal teams with ledger queries
  • Assist with the annual Solicitors Accounts Rules audit
Office Account
  • Complete daily banking and reconciliation tasks
  • Assist with preparation of the monthly accounts pack
  • Support the annual audit process
  • Manage petty cash and credit card transactions
  • Maintain the creditors ledger
  • Produce ad hoc financial reports as required
Who We’re Looking For

You’ll be a proactive team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work accurately in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • AAT Level 3 or 4, or part‑qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working within a busy accounts team
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero
  • Good Excel skills
  • Experience using LEAP (preferred but not essential)
  • At least six months’ experience as a Finance Assistant
