About the Unit

We are a busy 29‑bed Stroke Unit offering specialised, excellent care for hyper‑acute, acute and rehabilitation stroke patients, plus other general medical conditions. We run a 24/7 thrombolysis & stroke assessment service and you will be part of this dynamic team.

Role Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated Health Care Assistants to provide basic care to all stroke patients, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the patient’s experience and ensure efficient service delivery.

This role requires you to practice and adopt the National 6 C’s (Care, Compassion, Communication, Commitment, Competence and Courage), the core values that underpin nursing professional behaviour and the commitment to always deliver excellent care.

Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate flexibility
  • Be able to work as part of a team as well as make decisions autonomously
  • Be willing to undertake further training and mandatory updates as deemed necessary
Training & Support

In‑house training specific to stroke care will be provided, with ongoing support from the Stroke Specialist Matron and the multidisciplinary team. Supervision, annual appraisal, and training opportunities to meet your personal development plan will be offered.

About the Hospital

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital provides a comprehensive range of specialist services across West and North Norfolk, North Cambridgeshire, and South Lincolnshire, with approximately 530 beds and modern facilities. A new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper‑based records from 2026, supporting safer, joined‑up care.
