About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist who wants to take the next step in their career and embrace a new challenge. The role will be based in the Acute Medical Team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital as the only clinician in a specialist, high‑acuity environment.

Responsibilities

As part of an integrated rehabilitation service, you will work autonomously to deliver a high standard of assessment, diagnosis and intervention across the wide range of acute medical wards. Your duties include:

  • Providing independent, proactive and holistic assessment and treatment planning using advanced clinical reasoning.
  • Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to support seamless patient care.
  • Mentoring and developing rotational Band 5 therapists and supervising therapy support staff.
  • Educating therapy students during placement.
  • Actively participating in quality improvement projects to enhance the Acute Medicine team.
Environment and Development

The integrated Rehabilitation Service champions a progressive, forward‑thinking approach, fostering personal development and continuous education. You will also be part of a major digital transformation, contributing to the implementation of a new electronic patient record system slated to replace paper records in 2026.

About the Hospital

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is a 530‑bed facility serving 331,000 people across West and North Norfolk, North Cambridge, and South Lincolnshire. It offers comprehensive specialist, acute, obstetrics, and community services, and is preparing to open a state‑of‑the‑art building in 2030.
