Salary: $16.92 - $17.42 per hour (Hire in range; DOE)

The City of Kingman is seeking a seasonal Aquatics Manager to lead day-to-day operations at the City’s aquatic facilities during the swim season. In this role, you’ll work closely with the team to keep pools running smoothly, ensure proper staffing, and support safe, well-organized aquatic programs for the community.

You have hands-on experience in aquatics and feel confident supervising staff, enforcing safety rules, and stepping in during emergencies when needed. You’re organized, approachable, and comfortable balancing staff coordination, customer interaction, and program oversight throughout the season.
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- A minimum of two (2) years of combined experience working in aquatic programs, such as Assistant Aquatics Manager, Water Safety Instructor, or Lifeguard
- Current certifications in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens
- Lifeguard Instructor and/or Swim Lesson Instructor Trainer certification preferred
- Ability to convert current certifications to the Red Cross program within a timely manner
- Previous experience supervising or leading others in a work environment preferred
- Valid Arizona State Driver’s License or ability to obtain one
- Valid lifeguard certification from an approved organization (Ellis, Red Cross, or Starguard)
- Swim Instructor certification or ability to obtain
- Supervision & Daily Operations (40%):
Supervise aquatics staff by training, assigning and evaluating work, assisting with hiring, and addressing employee concerns. Coordinate staffing schedules and duty assignments, conduct daily and weekly site visits, and monitor overall pool operations. - Administrative Support (25%):
Maintain records and prepare reports related to pool activities. Approve timesheets, and provide general administrative support including phone coverage and data entry. Coordinate aquatic programs such as swim lessons and swim meets. Oversee the collection, recording, and depositing of pool revenues. - Safety & Lifeguard Readiness (20%):
Respond appropriately to emergency situations, assist with water rescues and first aid/CPR when needed. Help plan and conduct red shirt drills to test lifeguard readiness and the facility’s Emergency Action Plan. Lead professional rescue procedures as required while reinforcing preventative safety measures. - Facility Maintenance (15%):
Ensure proper facility maintenance and sanitation, supervise the use and care of equipment and supplies, recommend needed resources, perform routine pool and deck upkeep, and conduct water chemistry testing.
