Job Summary

Officer position.

We are located at 3715 Sunshine Dr., Kingman, AZ.

Mission

To prevent illegal (Wildcat Dumping) by enforcement, education, and the pursuit of the Criminal Offenders. We accomplish this Mission by investigating the criminal complaints, educating the public, and with the assistance from the many Community volunteer groups, Businesses, and Organizations throughout Mohave County. Public Works are consistently working to improve the quality of life here in beautiful Mohave County. Each division works to develop more efficient programs to guarantee the best possible service for our citizens.

Salary Range

E.R.A.C.E. Officer - 15 Steps 1-8 $ 23.26 - $28.61/hr.

Work Schedule

Work 4 ten‑hour shifts.

This is a split position that will include extended work at Davis Camp Park.

Maybe required to work weekends and holidays. Schedule involves being "On‑Call" which would include weekends and holidays.

Travel & Working Conditions

Must possess and maintain firearm proficiency.

Be required to successfully pass drug screen post offer, complete psychological, polygraph, health‑related, and physical agility testing appropriate to law enforcement individuals.

AZPOST certification is required for the position. If holding a lapsed or out‑of‑state certification, must obtain a current/active AZPOST certification within the first 6 months of employment.

Must be able to travel throughout different county locations. Working conditions include but are not limited to:

  • Work requires traveling throughout the county while operating and handling a motor vehicle in adverse traffic conditions, weather, terrain, and high‑speed driving.
  • Perform moderate to strenuous manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions including extreme heat and extreme cold temperatures.
  • Exposure to exhaust and chemical fumes, oil, grease, hazardous materials, and noise of equipment.
  • The ability to frequently lift 25lbs up to 75lbs or more while operating heavy equipment.
  • Equal amount of time spent standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and bending sometimes required.
Essential Job Functions
  • Responds to and participates in activities involved in implementing and coordinating a comprehensive county‑wide environmental rural area clean‑up enforcement program.
  • Provides assistance in conducting a law enforcement program involving investigations, apprehending violators, inter‑agency coordination, education and other law enforcement and program activities.
  • Analyzes activity and violation problems occurring in unincorporated areas of Mohave County as it relates to illegal and wildcat dumping.
  • Develops information through fact‑finding by collecting on‑site evidence, interviewing witnesses or suspects, following up on leads, searching records, conducting surveillance, observing suspicious activity and through information provided by informants, concerned citizens and Federal, State, and local officials.
  • Assists and requests assistance from agencies with conducting of law enforcement activities, maintaining, and establishing liaisons with local Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies and their personnel.
