AQUATIC AIDE - PART TIME

PARKS AND RECREATION

We’re looking for Aquatic Aides to help support our summer aquatic programs at City of Kingman pool facilities. This role helps keep the pool running smoothly by welcoming patrons, assisting with daily operations, and supporting staff in maintaining a safe, clean, and fun environment. Assignments may include working as a Locker Attendant, Pool Cashier, or Snack Bar Attendant.

Interviews to occur February 23 – April 10. Positions open until filled. Apply early.

You enjoy working with people, staying active, and being part of a team during the summer. You’re friendly, dependable, and comfortable interacting with the public in a fast-paced setting. You’re willing to learn, follow instructions, and help create a positive experience for everyone who visits the pool.

Qualifications
  • At least 15 years of age
  • Some experience working with the public
  • Some experience with cashiering or using a cash register, or a combination of education, experience, and training which demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Some assignments may require a valid Arizona driver’s license or the ability to obtain one
  • Snack Bar Attendant assignments require a current Mohave County Health Department Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to work early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred
Responsibilities
  • Customer Service & Public Interaction (30%): Greet patrons, respond to questions, provide information about pool programs and activities, and communicate professionally with the public, staff, and management.
  • Facility Support, Safety & Supervision (30%): Assist with facility supervision, observe safety precautions, help maintain order, cleanliness, and proper use of aquatic facilities, and report unsafe conditions or maintenance needs.
  • Daily Operations & Setup (20%): Prepare and secure equipment, service areas, and facilities for daily operations. Assist with opening and closing duties, basic cleaning and sanitizing, and maintaining organized work spaces.
  • Assignment-Specific Duties (15%):
    • Locker Attendant: Assist patrons with the storage and retrieval of personal belongings, supervise use of locker and shower areas, and greet and interact with the public in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Pool Cashier: Collect admission fees for swimming, lessons, and special events; maintain intake records; assist with daily deposits; and provide friendly, professional customer service to patrons.
    • Snack Bar Attendant: Support daily snack bar operations, including food preparation, cleanup and sanitation, handling payments, maintaining inventory, and reporting needs or issues to the supervisor while providing excellent customer service.
  • Administrative & Team Support (5%): Complete attendance records, incident reports, timesheets, and other required documentation. Attend required meetings and trainings and assist with special events as needed.
