The veterinary assistant provides support to veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks: cleaning and maintaining equipment; feeding, exercising, grooming patients; preparing and sanitizing surgery suites; restraining and handling patients; clerical and administrative work. They deliver quality care for all patients and provide exceptional service.

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and owners, perform vital sign checks.
• Triage, perform physical exams, administer treatments as directed by licensed veterinary technicians.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist with medication administration and patient restraint.
• Perform laboratory tests and radiographs.
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment (EKG, fluid pump, syringe pump, anesthesia monitors, etc.).
• Prescribe and administer medications, maintain controlled‑drug logs.
• Feed patients, record appetites, report abnormalities.
• Communicate with clients, ensuring they feel comfortable.
• Educate clients on insurance, wellness, and medicinal plans.
• Maintain cleanliness of hospital, use chemicals safely, complete laundry.
• Bath and care patients staying overnight; ensure release readiness.
• Adhere to safety and wellness regulations.
• Understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Show up for work regularly; full‑time presence essential.
• Promote hospital products and services and support the organization.
• Respond respectfully and promptly to directions from DVM or LVT.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the manager or specialty area.

• Relevant experience in a veterinary environment performing all duties of this position.

• Start date no earlier than 1/5/2026.
• Monday through Friday (4 days on with 1 day off).
• Rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
• Rotating holidays.
