Job Description
Unlock your potential for professional development! We are hiring a PRN Speech Language Pathologist (CCC) to join our Therapy Services team!
Position PurposeAll KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI’s vision of providing the region’s best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct a Speech and Language Pathology evaluation or screen.
- Select and administer the appropriate diagnostic procedures to determine the extent of the patient’s impairment and the prognosis for improvement.
- Develop an individualized Plan of Care with functional goals.
- Provide appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Evaluate patient response to treatment and modify plan as necessary.
- Document the course of patient care including progress made and the continuing need for treatment.
- Provide patient and/or family education to help achieve goals.
- Adhere to KHI Attendance Policy.
- Communicate and demonstrate a professional image for patients, families, clients, coworkers, and others.
- Adhere to policies, rules, and regulations from KHI, Arizona State Board of Speech and Language Pathology, and Medicare.
- Assist with orientation of new staff as requested.
- Meet KHI requirements for skills competency and safety.
- Participate in continuing education/professional development activities.
- Assist with the SLP students and Clinical Fellow program.
- Participate in staff meetings, client relation and marketing activities.
- Ensure documentation is complete and accurate, meeting all KHI, Arizona State Board of Speech Language Pathology, and Medicare regulatory requirements.
- Complete billing by the end of each shift, accurate and justified.
- Achieve individual productivity meeting department standards.
- Maintain patient satisfaction meeting or exceeding department standards.
- Education: Graduate of a Master’s Degree program, or foreign equivalent, in Speech & Language Pathology.
- Licensure: Current Arizona License for Speech & Language Pathology.
- Certification: BLS and AED through the American Heart Association.
- Certificate of Clinical
Competency:
(or eligible). - Experience: Recent experience working with an adult and geriatric population.
- Preferences: Serving people with physical disabilities is desirable.
The incumbent must have the ability to lift and transfer patients and equipment, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, crouch, and communicate to provide therapeutic interventions.
