Position Summary
Provides outpatient counseling, and other supportive covered services to eligible adult clients. Maintains client records and required paperwork. An acceptable level of direct service is expected to be maintained as measured by billable hours/service value.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities
- Provides evidenced based individual, group and family therapy to a diverse caseload of adult clients.
- The primary responsibility of the Managing Clinician is to provide clinical expertise and oversight of the person's care, ensure the clinical soundness of the assessment/treatment process, and serve as the point of contact, coordinating and communicating with the person's team and other system where clinical knowledge of the care is important.
- Assesses clients through ongoing processes such as strengths-based assessment, activities assessment, co-occurring/substance use assessments, risk assessments and annual assessments to monitor the progress of the client and family toward their goals.
- Able to effectively de-escalate clients using techniques as trained and outlined in approved crisis intervention models
- Assists the client/family in creating a safety/crisis plan and provides crisis intervention services to individuals in emergency situations, as evidenced by the written safety crisis plan in the record and overall record review.
- Maintains client records in compliance with Mohave Mental Health Clinic, Inc., ADHS, RBHA/health plans, AHCCCS, and Joint Commission standards.
- Engages with the client, family and other involved parties through face-to-face, telehealth and phone interactions and work with the client and family to build trust, encourage hope, and ensure ongoing engagement in behavioral health services.
- Provides behavioral health covered services to clients when medically necessary and appropriate, meeting the agency's direct service standard of 1248 hours annually.
- Networks with community agencies to provide services to eligible clients.
- Utilizes best practice guidelines to ensure appropriate length of time in care.
- The employee must work well under pressure meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines. The employee shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
- Provides customer service to internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Participates in the Performance Improvement Processes in the Clinic.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUISITES:
- Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field.
- Currently licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
- Knowledge or experience in providing crisis intervention services and counseling to a broad range of clients.
- High skill level in assessment and evaluation.
- Ability to work as part of a team to coordinate client care.
- Knowledge of DSM 5 diagnosis and treatment skills.
- Valid Arizona driver's license and proof of insurance.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel to other clinic sites if needed.

Staff responsible for providing services to substance using members have appropriate training, education, experience, performance and demonstrate competency.
Staff must be able to gather and assess information about:
- The relationship of each member's physical status to the substance use.
- The nature of the emotional compulsion to use alcohol and/or other drugs.
- The intensity of the member's preoccupation with using alcohol/and/or other drugs.
