Ground Software Engineer

Description

Lockheed Martin Space seeks software engineers to craft and build innovative solutions for our customers. You will be part of an Agile team that utilizes state‑of‑the‑art commercial standard methodologies such as Dev Sec Ops  and modern development tools. You will participate in progressing system capabilities from early design through site acceptance focused on software reuse, COTS/FOSS integrations, and innovative, affordable best practices.

• Design, implement, test, and maintain object‑oriented ground system software applications using Java, C#, C++, Angular, Python.
• Support modernization efforts geared toward achieving greater efficiency, security, automation, and scalability.
• Collaborate with an enthusiastic team of software, systems, and test engineers using the Agile Development methodology.

• Deep Software Development, Software Engineering background, with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Experience developing ground subsystems.
• Cloud/containerization experience with a good understanding of distributed systems and designing for scalability.
• Experience developing microservices.
• Demonstrated expertise in Scaled Agile development methodologies, with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and teamwork across Agile Development Teams.
• An active TS/SCI clearance is required for consideration.

• Meaningful experience designing and implementing software solutions using the following technologies:
  Java, C#, Python.
• Proficient in using Git for version control and collaboration.
• Working knowledge of Dev Sec Ops  Pipelines.
• Excellent understanding of Agile Methodologies as they relate to the Scaled Agile Framework.
• Experience with Agile, automated test, CI/CD, and regression testing.
• Committed with strong problem‑solving skills applied to software engineering solutions.
• Previous experience delivering highly reliable Communications / Ground subsystems.

This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen and have an active TS/SCI clearance.

Annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $113,900 - $200,905. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location.
