Assistant Manager
The Assistant Manager is responsible for day-to-day restaurant operations and ensuring the team delivers exceptional guest experiences while upholding core hospitality standards and values.
Lead the Way- Build a learning, supportive environment that drives sales, service excellence, and internal career growth.
- Partner with the General Manager to proactively recruit, thoughtfully hire, onboard, and mentor team members.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels; set clear expectations; train, coach, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Implement company training programs and follow up to ensure skills transfer on the job.
- Practice proactive performance management in partnership with Regional/HR as needed; ensure policy compliance.
- Support career development plans to improve retention and build bench strength.
- Manage location expenses and ensure adherence to budgets.
- Ensure consistent execution of policies, procedures, and brand standards (visual and experiential).
- Maintain the appearance and upkeep of kitchen, bar, dining, and exterior areas in partnership with location leadership.
- Model and reinforce the organizations values in all decisions and actions; be receptive to feedback and coaching.
- Possess thorough knowledge and enforcement of all food & beverage menus, ingredients, prep methods, and presentation.
- Uphold hospitality/service standards at every guest touchpoint; cultivate authentic community relationships.
- Ensure proper cash handling and accurate POS operations.
- Maintain food handling, safety, and sanitation compliance at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; must be 18+ years of age.
- Generally 3+ years of food & beverage experience; prior leadership experience preferred.
- Current food handlers and alcohol service certifications as required by federal/state/local law.
- Familiarity with reservation platforms (e.g., "Open Table") preferred.
- Ability to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic math proficiency; comfortable with Microsoft Office and standard business software.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to ~50 lbs.
- Frequent bending/stooping/kneeling; occasional ladder use.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Possible travel for training and to assist at other locations.
- Availability to work varied hours/days as business needs require.
