Senior Manager of Audit Standards and Quality
The Senior Manager of Audit Standards and Quality will play a critical role in ensuring the consistent application of high-quality audit standards across the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of audit and risk management principles, a strong commitment to audit quality assurance, and the ability to collaborate effectively with audit teams and stakeholders. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of our audit practices and maintain the highest professional standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain audit standards and procedures, ensuring alignment with relevant professional standards (e.g., IIA, PCAOB) and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the quality assurance process for internal audits, including periodic reviews of audit work papers, reports, and the overall audit process.
- Identify areas for improvement in audit standards and quality assurance practices and implement necessary changes.
- Provide training and guidance to audit staff on audit standards, quality assurance methodologies, and related best practices.
- Monitor emerging trends and best practices in audit standards and quality and incorporate them into the company's approach.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure audit standards and quality support the overall risk management framework.
- Stay abreast of changes in regulations and accounting standards impacting audit practices and update internal standards accordingly.
- Manage and mentor a team of quality assurance professionals (if applicable).
- Report regularly to senior management on audit quality metrics and trends.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in audit and risk management.
- Demonstrated expertise in audit methodology, standards, and quality assurance practices.
- Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
- Excellent understanding of professional auditing standards (e.g., IIA, PCAOB).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Big 4 or other public accounting firms.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade mid-to-senior level audiences.
