Maintenance Mechanic
The Maintenance Mechanic is a key member of the maintenance team, responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of production by performing both reactive and preventive maintenance tasks. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all facility and production equipment.
Schedule: 2nd Shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM EST), Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities- Reactive Maintenance: Respond promptly to calls to diagnose and repair equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on all facility and production machinery.
- Shop Stewardship: Maintain cleanliness and organization of all maintenance areas, tools, and equipment.
- Inventory & Fabrication: Manage and track parts inventory; fabricate or repair parts as needed using shop equipment.
- Tool Management: Properly operate and maintain provided tools and equipment to complete assigned tasks.
- Physical & Environment: Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs and willingness to work in a dusty environment.
- Technical
Skills:
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting knowledge. - Proficiency with hand tools and shop tools.
- Electrical/controls troubleshooting training or experience.
- Basic machine shop skills (mill, lathe, drill press, welding, etc.) and parts fabrication.
- Communication & Tech: Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and excellent communication abilities.
- Compliance: Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
- Availability: Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- Willingness to work B or C shifts.
- Available for mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- General mechanic/maintenance experience with a related training certificate or technical degree.
- Advanced machine shop, welding, or metal fabrication training.
- Electronic/Electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Experience operating rigging or heavy lifting equipment.
- A passion and willingness to learn and grow within the maintenance field.
