Overview

Pride Health is hiring for a Pharmacist to support our client’s facility at King of Prussia, PA 19406
. This is a 13 Week Contract – possibility of extension and conversion to FTE opportunity.

Job Summary

The Specialty Pharmacist serves as a key liaison between the specialty pharmacy, specialty clinics, healthcare providers, and patients. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality specialty pharmacy services with a focus on pediatric populations, complex drug therapies, and coordinated patient care.

The Specialty Pharmacist maintains competency in specialty medication management, ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, and contributes to clinical, operational, and process improvement initiatives within specialty and ambulatory pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities

Specialty Pharmacy Services

  • Provide accurate, timely, and patient-centered specialty pharmacy services for patients requiring complex and high-cost medications.
  • Deliver clinical monitoring and pharmacotherapy services in accordance with organizational policy, URAC standards, Joint Commission accreditation requirements, and state pharmacy regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, specialty clinics, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, effective, and optimized patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a clinical and operational resource for specialty medication-related inquiries.

Patient Care & Medication Management

  • Manage enrollment and onboarding of new specialty pharmacy patients.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and manage prior authorization processes for specialty prescriptions.
  • Conduct initial and follow-up patient interactions (in person or via telephone) to support therapy adherence, education, and monitoring.
  • Answer clinical, medication access, and insurance-related questions from patients, caregivers, and providers.
  • Provide drug information and disease-state education to patients, families, clinic staff, and pharmacy team members.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete all patient documentation accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply working knowledge of URAC, Joint Commission, and state pharmacy regulations to daily pharmacy operations.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to institutional policies.

Operations, Training & Leadership Support

  • Oversee specialty medication management within assigned areas of specialty practice.
  • Support daily specialty clinic and pharmacy operations, including coordination of follow-up visits and medication access workflows.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns to ensure accurate preparation, dispensing, and timely distribution of medications.
  • Provide training and orientation to new specialty pharmacy staff, including prior authorizations, financial assistance programs, and specialty pharmacy services.
  • Precept pharmacy students, interns, and/or residents as assigned.
  • Participate in departmental process improvement initiatives.
  • Identify workflow improvement opportunities and provide feedback to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Specialty Pharmacy Management.
Required Qualifications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm

    D) degree.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide age-specific care to pediatric patient populations, including neonates, children, and adolescents.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) to two (2) years of Specialty Pharmacy experience.
  • Experience in pediatric specialty or ambulatory pharmacy settings.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a clinical environment.

  • Job Type: 13 Week Contract (possibility of extension and conversion to FTE)
  • Shift: Monday–Friday | 8-hour shifts between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Schedule: 8× 5-hour shifts (40hours/week)
