Senior Accountant

Overview

Come join a growing medical device company. Maxx Orthopedics is growing the Finance Department and is looking for a Senior Accountant to play a crucial role in the financial management and reporting for the company. Their responsibilities encompass various financial tasks, including accounting, financial analysis, and financial reporting.

• Oversee the company's day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledgers entries. Ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded in compliance with GAAP.
• Prepare and review financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Generate financial reports for management, auditors, and regulatory agencies as required.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting; develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance and provide analysis and recommendations to management.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.
• Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

Tax Compliance:

• Prepare and file various tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other applicable tax forms.
• Stay up-to-date with tax regulations and ensure compliance.

Audit Support:

• Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist auditors with their inquiries.

Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Provide guidance and training to ensure their professional development.

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A CPA or CA designation is preferred.
• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with some experience in a supervisory or senior role.
• 5 plus years of experience with SAP software (recognized and an expert in SAP).
