MissionAs a Materials and Processes Engineer, you will lead small‑group project teams to propose, select, qualify, and test metals and composites for hyper‑sonic projectiles and atmospheric re‑entry vehicle applications.
Responsibilities- Lead small‑group project teams to propose, select, qualify, and test materials for hyper‑sonic projectiles and re‑entry vehicle applications.
- Perform Materials and Processes (M&P) technical engineering assignments.
- Troubleshoot problems and find innovative solutions.
- Prepare technical progress reports, specifications, evaluate suppliers, and analyze test reports.
- Engage regularly with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to meet program objectives.
- Coordinate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement disciplines.
- BS Degree in Materials Engineering or related field of study.
- Formal coursework, training, experience, and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or construction of mechanical parts or materials.
- Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- 0 to 2 years of professional experience.
- US Citizenship required.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, bill of materials, alloys, heat treatment, polymeric materials, and corrosion control methods.
- Familiarity with technical requirements and engineering standards used in aerospace (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer networking.
- Ability to work independently and multitask, with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Energetic, detail oriented, and experienced working in dynamic development environments with shifting priorities.
- Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
Top Secret clearance required. This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Location & ShiftOnsite Full‑time at a Lockheed Martin facility. Shift: First.
Experience Level4 years and up in College level.
