Job Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and experienced Break Relief RN to provide supplemental staffing and break coverage across multiple hospital departments, including Emergency, Medical-Surgical/Swing Bed, and Skilled Nursing units. Reporting to the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer and Nurse House Supervisor, the RN will independently implement the nursing process to deliver safe, effective, and age-appropriate patient care for individuals ranging from newborns to adults up to 120 years old.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing support and break coverage in any trained department as assigned.
• Deliver individualized patient care following established care plans and competencies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and proof of competency to ensure high-quality care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to communicate patient progress and care needs.
• Participate in unit activities, patient care conferences, and training as required.
Requirements:
• Current, unencumbered California RN license.
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience within the past 2 years; at least 6 months recent experience in Emergency or Critical Care required.
• Current BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to multiple units, and manage a variable patient population.
Additional Information:
• Day shift: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
• 13-week contract.
• Overtime and holiday pay policies apply as defined by agency.
• Housing may be limited; temporary options available until permanent arrangements are made.
