Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Consultant - T&O based at University Hospital Crosshouse.

Hours

From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings. 37 hours per week.

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership

A UK car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.

What You Will Do
  • Work with key stakeholders across acute, primary care and community services including health, social care, third sector and public health.
  • Provide an interface between North, South and East Ayrshire HSCP services to streamline patient care.
  • Deliver on the agreed KPIs aligned to the Hip Fracture Audit, DWD, D2A and the frailty pathway.
  • Provide Nurse leadership to the MDT within Trauma and Orthopaedics with a strong focus on improving orthogeriatric care and reducing hospital length of stay.
  • Lead on education and training across Trauma and Orthopaedics.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job

You will be able to evidence Masters level education, experience of leading a clinical team, and advanced clinical skills in acute assessment / care and community rehabilitation.
