Job Description
To provide information and guidance principally concerning the operation of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982, the Licensing of Short‑Term Lets Order, the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (Scotland) Regulations 2021, the Gambling Act 2005, Smoking Health and Social Care (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986. To supervise compliance by licence holders of licence conditions and other requirements, to provide guidance in relation to all aspects of licensing legislation, to provide mediation services for the purpose of avoiding or resolving disputes and to undertake appropriate enforcement action as required.

This is a permanent full‑time post based within Council Headquarters, London Road, Kilmarnock. The hours of work are 35 hours per week:
Monday‑Thursday 9.00a.m. – 5.00p.m. and Friday 9.00a.m. – 4.00p.m. The workstyle for this post is "Flexible" – 50%‑79% of your time in an office location/multiple work locations. You will work at your administrative base or another agreed office location between 2.5 to 4 days per week and only occasionally from home. It is the expectation that all office‑based employees (with the exception of those working in schools) will work to the higher end of their allocated workstyle in terms of time spent in the office or at other work locations.
The full‑time salary of the post is between £42,115 and £45,882 per annum.
