Position An exciting opportunity has arisen for a a Business Support Assistant within our Business Support Department based at East Ayrshire Community Hospital in Cumnock.

As a Business Support Assistant based within the East Ayrshire Health Community Hospital in Cumnock, you will provide a comprehensive, community-orientated administrative and clerical support to the multi-disciplinary team based within the community hospital setting.
The role of the post holder within the team is instrumental in ensuring the flow of communication, from a variety of sources projecting a positive, professional image for the whole function and in particular when acting as first point of contact for the service.
To be the first point of contact for patients and visitors / callers to the service, ensuring that all enquiries are dealt with promptly and efficiently, providing a positive image, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times and adhere to all organisational policies and procedures.
You will be required to work flexibly to cover staff absences, and any periods of particular pressure.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job- SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Business Administration OR equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the services provided by the Health and Social Care Partnership.
- Experience of working with members of the public.
- Able to liaise effectively and build relations with a range of stakeholders.
- Effective organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – both written and verbal.
- A good attention to detail when producing / processing information.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
- Ability to recognise the sensitivity of information and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Adaptable to change.
- Extensive experience in providing administrative / project support in a demanding office environment.
- Experience of engaging with a diverse and challenging range of stakeholders.
- Worked within a diverse multi-disciplinary organisation.
- Used Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook.
Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team is advantageous. This post involves managing telephone calls / enquiries, emails, referral management, managing and monitoring electronic patient management systems and ad hoc admin duties required to support the service.
