Position: Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS)

Mitchell & Associates, Inc. has a long history of providing professional civil engineering and land surveying services throughout the Central Texas area. We specialize in land surveying, comprehensive and professional civil engineering for both the private and public sectors. We are seeking a skilled RPLS to join our team and support projects from field data collection to final documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze field data, maps, and legal records to determine property lines and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide support, enrichment, and oversight to survey crews and drafters.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to provide accurate survey data for development projects.
  • Utilize GPS, GIS, and other surveying software to process, manage, and analyze data efficiently.
  • Prepare detailed survey, maps, plats, and legal descriptions for clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Research deeds, historical maps, and land records to support boundary determinations and project planning.
  • Ensure compliance with surveying standards, local regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Provide technical expertise and documentation for property or boundary-related legal matters as needed.
  • Apply strong knowledge of the Texas Local Government Code, municipal ordnances, and TSPS Manual of Practice.
Qualifications
  • Must be Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in Texas or the equivalent in another state and can obtain a reciprocal license in Texas within 6 months.
  • 2+ years of professional land surveying experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in surveying software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Leica, GIS applications, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of boundary law, mapping standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for client and team coordination.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license required.
