Position Title: Economic Development Coordinator
Reports To: Vice President of Economic Development
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Salary: $40, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

We’re seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Economic Development Coordinator to join our team and support a wide range of economic development initiatives that benefit our city and region.
Position Summary:
The Economic Development Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting daily operations and long-term strategic efforts in business attraction, retention, and expansion. This position will support the Vice President of Economic Development with administrative tasks, project coordination, stakeholder communication, and marketing efforts to help advance Killeen’s economic landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, data entry, and responding to RFIs (Requests for Information)
- Assist with outreach efforts for the Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) program, including scheduling and tracking company visits in the industrial park
- Maintain and update economic development databases including business inquiries, site listings, stakeholder contacts, and project tracking
- Generate reports and summaries using internal software for leadership, board members, and stakeholders
- Assist in coordinating recurring meetings and special engagements with stakeholders, government agencies, investors, and business leaders
- Support the planning and logistics of economic development-related events, presentations, and initiatives
- Assist in marketing efforts, including the creation and updating of print and digital materials such as brochures, flyers, website content, press releases, social media posts, and newsletters
- Maintain economic development website content and online building/site databases
- Conduct research on industry trends, regional market data, and economic indicators to support strategic initiatives
- Track media mentions and maintain internal and external communications archives
- Attend meetings, take notes, and provide follow-up as needed
- Organize and update both digital and physical records
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred (Public Administration, Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field)
- 1–2 years of relevant administrative, marketing, or economic development experience preferred
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn internal CRM and economic development software
- Familiarity with marketing tools such as Canva, Mail Chimp, or similar platforms is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Professionalism, discretion, and a strong attention to detail
- Be able to lift 30 or more pounds.
