Code Enforcement Clerk
Performs routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering phones, receiving the public and providing customer assistance.
The employee will have the responsibility of:
* Acts as the primary Division point of contact for all Code Enforcement-related inquiries.
* Receives the public and answers questions; responds to inquiries from citizens and others, and refers, when necessary, to appropriate persons. Assists the public in filing code-related complaints.
* Collects, receives, and distributes mail to officers or files returned notices in the case file. Applies postage and mails letters for the Division.
* Performs clerical work, answers phones, and maintains file records. Operates listed office machines as required.
* Enter complaints and inspections for Code Enforcement Officers. Inputs, updates, and retrieves data in specialized software regarding code violations.
* Processes case files for abatement. Communicates with and schedules the abatement contractors to abate code violations.
* Receives abatement invoices, prepares requisitions, and forwards them to billing for contractor payments.
* Use GIS maps to locate addresses and properties.
* Assists the Lien Collections Specialist with lien-related work as necessary, providing backup as necessary.
* Assists the Principal Secretary in developing monthly and weekly reports by providing information as needed.
* Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license and complies with the City of Killeen driving policy.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Required
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
* Graduation from high school or equivalent; and
* One (1) year related experience, or
* Any equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Requirements :
* Must have a valid Texas driver's license within ninety (90) days of hire
* Must have a valid driver's license by date-of-hire
