SUMMARY

The Group Leader is responsible for leading and working the operations and maintenance of their designated section of the business as related to customer product line and internal manufacturing processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Availability for daily/weekly overtime.
  • Adherence to plant safety requirements as established by company policy.
  • Assistance of low/high level maintenance skills.
  • Drives daily throughput of product manufactured within his/her area of responsibility.
  • Works closely with production associates, providing guidance and assuring materials are in designated area in timely manner.
  • Performs all checks on work cells as required by Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Operating Conditions to ensure that quality and production goals are achieved.
  • Prepares and reports daily production totals.
  • Positive communications with line team operators, management and among other shifts and departments to ensure consistent information.
  • Notifies Supervisor of poor work performance of team members and any employee relation issue.
  • Maintains housekeeping of designated area to required standards (6S)
  • Accepts assignments and other responsibilities as required in support of team objectives.
  • Also meets the requirements of the operator level requirements and skills if needed.
  • Works with team members to train and develop.
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance standards, processes and best practices.
  • Monitor production visual dashboards and take corrective action when needed.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Daily/Weekly availability for overtime.
  • Cross-train in other positions within the facility based on business needs.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have strong mechanical (machinery) aptitude and knowledge.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a changing environment to meet customer needs.
  • General knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Excel and Word.
  • Previous experience with MRP systems, preferred.
  • Excellent organization, communication and analytical skills.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for continuous periods of 4 hours.
  • Must have job integrity and be a reliable employee; desire to be successful in a fast-paced environment, confidence in their work, and a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Experience as Production Line Leader or equivalent within manufacturing environments.
  • The employee frequently is required to handle product and reach with hands and arms, repetitively throughout the shift.
  • The employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong interpersonal skill with the ability to train and develop individuals and/or teams effectively.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing process.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to office, warehouse, and plant environments. The work environment will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain areas. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
