Description
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Lead Bellman/Luggage Attendant and the Assistant General Manager, the Pool Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming pool environment for all hotel guests. This position ensures the pool area is properly stocked, organized, and compliant with safety and health regulations, while also providing courteous and attentive guest service. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoys working outdoors in a guest-focused setting.
RequirementsDuties and Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide assistance with towels, lounge chairs, and amenities
- Assist with Bicycle & Pickleball rentals
- Monitor pool and surrounding areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and organization
- Set up and break down pool furniture, umbrellas, and supplies daily
- Remove used towels, trash, and debris from the area promptly and sanitize high‑touch areas regularly
- Restock towels and guest supplies (e.g., sunscreen, water stations, magazines, etc.)
- Enforce pool rules and hotel policies to ensure guest safety and enjoyment
- Report any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or guest complaints to management immediately
- Check umbrellas nightly to ensure they are secured
- Provide basic information to guests about hotel amenities, food and beverage options, or recreational activities
- Assist with special poolside events or activities as scheduled
- Work cooperatively with other departments such as Engineering, Housekeeping, and Front Desk
- Must be able to cover Bellman duties during Bellman business needs, for breaks, PTO, sick days, etc., as required
- Other duties as assigned
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in varying weather conditions
- Dependable, organized, and proactive with strong attention to detail
- Must be able to follow safety instructions and hotel protocols
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and peak season schedules
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in hospitality, recreation, or pool maintenance is a plus
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, heat, and humidity
- Outdoor pool environment, often in direct sun and around water
- Regular guest interaction and moderate physical labor
- Use of cleaning chemicals and pool maintenance equipment (as needed)
- Must be able to work AM and PM shifts
