An opportunity has arisen for a Powertrain Development Engineer to join the Jaguar TCS Racing department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.

About the Role

To support the Design & Development of Formula E powertrain equipment (MGU, Inverter, Low voltage power and control systems & Software).

What you will do
  • Design and deliver robust and reliable electronic hardware designs.
  • Physical testing and prototype evaluation of electronic hardware.
  • Maintain and support de-bug activities for current powertrain, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Collaborate with group to capture design requirements and support system sign-off.
  • Support on vehicle testing and troubleshooting (Rig and Track) where relevant.
  • The Research and Development for future powertrain design.
  • Assist in Identifying ways to improve the department and personnel performance.
About You
  • To have a ‘can do’ proactive attitude day in day out and proactively support and collaborate with others.
  • Proficient in using PCB design software such as the Cadence tool chain.
  • Experience of traction inverters and/ or motor design would be advantageous along with experience in power electronics, PCB design, physical testing.
  • Experience with Embedded C Programming of microcontrollers would be beneficial.
  • Practical experience and soldering skills are desired.
  • Complete tasks given within agreed time frames.
  • Flexible attitude to working hours.
  • To follow and actively enforce the company’s health and Safety and HV policies.
