Quality Inspector - Aerospace | Kidderminster

Shorterm Group is recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join a leading aerospace manufacturer based in Kidderminster. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge defence and aerospace technologies in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 07:30-15:30, Friday: 07:30-14:30

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform Final Assembly Inspection Reports (FAIR) to ensure product conformity

* Write non-conformance reports and support technical investigations

* Inspect reworked components and assemblies

* Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processes

* Create and manage CMM programs, probes, and software updates

* Conduct manual inspections using micrometres, height gauges, and shadow graph

* Develop inspection methods for non-standard components

* Carry out internal audits in line with the audit schedule

* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures

🎓 Qualifications &

Experience:

Essential:

* Apprenticeship or equivalent in an engineering discipline

* Experience in a quality inspection role within manufacturing or engineering

* CMM operation and programming experience

* Proficiency in reading engineering drawings

* Skilled in using inspection and measuring equipment

* Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis tools (8D, 5 Whys)

Desirable:

* HNC or equivalent in engineering

* Internal Auditor qualification (AS/EN9100)

* Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, Six Sigma

* Experience in aerospace quality systems and lean initiatives
