Building Services Trades Person - Kidderminster Treatment CentreThe closing date is 18 February 2026
To work within the Estates team to undertake general building maintenance tasks, these will include general repairs to the building fabric including painting, decorating and maintenance duties within Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust s will include travelling between sites undertaking tasks in line with relevant policies and procedures, ensuring that all assigned duties and tasks have been completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Mainduties of the job
Work safely in live clinical environments, planning tasks to minimise disruption to patients, staff and services. Carry out painting, decorating and finishing works across clinical and non-clinical areas to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming healthcare facility. Prepare surfaces to a high standard, including filling, sanding, priming and repairing minor defects before applying finishes. Supporting the wider Estates maintenance teams by assisting with minor building fabric repairs when required.

Job responsibilitiesTo carry out a range of painting, decorating and finishing tasks to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment across NHS facilities. The postholder will assist with routine maintenance, refurbishment and projects working both independently and as part of the Estates team.

Person Specification Skills/Knowledge- Ability to use hand and simple tools.
- Knowledge of basic health and safety.
- Ability to communicate effectively using written & spoken communication and non-verbal communication such as e-mail etc.
- Polite and presentable, able to understand and carry out complex tasks accurately, good spoken communication skills, able to relate to the general public, able to work effectively as part of a team, and to keep calm and work effectively under pressure.
- Awareness of Infection Prevention Control (IPC) processes when working within the built environment.
- Previous experience of general building services maintenance activities, including painting, decorating. Demonstratable experience.
- NVQ level 3 or above in relevant building services discipline or Demonstratable experience equivalent working in a similar environment.
- Demonstratable experience working in a relevant building services or maintenance environment, with a track record of competence.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Acute NHS healthcare maintenance or similar fast paced environment.
