We are seeking talented and enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineers to join our Operations Team and contribute to the development and optimisation of current and future manufacturing capabilities within a high-precision, defence-focused manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Solve production challenges and bottlenecks
- Improve processes, methods, and tooling to optimise output
- Deliver capital projects from concept to introduction
- Design jigs, fixtures, test equipment, and tooling as required
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures and process control documents
- Support quality assurance and safety compliance
- Monitor KPIs, identify cost reduction opportunities, and drive continuous improvement
- Be comfortable working in an environment with energetic/explosive materials
- Play a pivotal role in enhancing shop floor safety, quality, productivity, and the successful introduction of new products
Essential Qualifications
- HNC, HND, or higher in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
- Proven experience in a production manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing Engineering experience within a production environment
- Hands‑on knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and techniques: value stream mapping, 6S, Kan Ban, Kaizen, MRL, PFMEA, SPC
- Experience in ISO 9001 environments
- Strong project delivery and problem‑solving skills
- Proven track record of working within a strong health & safety culture
- IT literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)
- EN9100, AS9100, ISO 14001, 18001
- Defence industry experience
- Knowledge of quality tools and APQP methodologies (DoE, 8D, Control Plans, Capability Studies, Lean Sigma)
- Analytical, proactive, and solution‑oriented
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement and process optimisation
- Successful candidate must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC)
